5 Last-minute Date Ideas for a Valentines at Home

Love is in the air… but as is COVID, so staying home this Valentine’s Day might be the only option for some of us. But not to worry, we have prepared five flirty last-minute Valentine ideas that you can enjoy from the comfort and safety of your own home.

Bubble bath n bubblies

Monday night might feel like a mood killer but that’s nothing a spa day can’t cleanse away. Run a candlelit bath and bundle up the bubbles and blow them around the bathroom. Let time slow down, this is the night for just the two of you: wash your partners’ hair, paint on a face mask, enjoy the simple pleasure of watching a fizzing bath bomb dissolve to nothing. Add a bottle of champagne to the equation and let all your stress and worries drain away with the water, leaving you just with the warm company of your loved one.

Chef up a charcuterie board

There’s something so oddly satisfying about building an artwork of fruit, crackers, cured meats, and your favourite cheeses with your significant other, snapping a few shots for social media, and then slowly devouring it, a bottle of wine by your side. Building a charcuterie board together is a creative and deliciously rewarding activity that is bound to stir up a bit of romance. Think: lounging on the back porch and watching the golden sun slip away until the trees turn black, just enjoying each other’s company and the aesthetic snack you’ve created together. Some of our charcuterie board favourites include; strawberries, olives, wafer crackers, sliced pancetta, grapes, brie, cucumber, and a crumbling cheddar. Mmm divine!

Paint date

If you want to take creation to a new level, hosting your own paint n sip at home could be the date idea for you. A special occasion, like Valentine’s Day, is an opportunity to try something new, experiment with your artistic side, as well as taking a moment to appreciate your partner’s creativity. You could work on an artwork together, get playful, get messy, even paint a picture of your partner for a bit of a laugh. If you need a bit of guidance and a landscape artwork is more your style, watching a Bob Ross tutorial on YouTube while painting might lend a helping hand and is always a calming, entertaining watch.

Games night

If you are both board game buffs maybe a games night rich with competitive banter is more your style. Pick a few of your favourite games at home and even add a friendly wager to increase the stakes, because board games definitely do not have to be boring.

Movie marathon

Spice up the classic ‘Netflix and Chill’ by treating yourself with some food delivery, served it on your own plates, kick your feet up and dine as you curate a movie marathon of your favourite flicks. Take turns choosing a film or maybe take a thoughtful approach and re-watch a movie that reminds you of a memory shared together. This night is for you, no need to get swept up in a Valentines’ extravaganza because sometimes the best gifts are a bit of rest and relaxation.

Knockout valentine outfit

Although we may be staying home this Valentines, it’s also nice to have an excuse to dress up and feel good, even if we don’t leave the couch. Our Annika dress in Summer Haze ($130) is a Valentine’s dream. With a heavenly Turkish floral textile on 100% cotton, this maxi has a tantalizing shirred bodice, feminine billowing sleeves, and an alluring A-line skirt. Pair this dress with the gorgeous Gemma Heart Earrings in pink and gold ($30) and a statement lip colour, for a jaw-dropping valentines look.
We hope these ideas help to make this Valentines’ from home memorable for you and your partner.
