Fashion for Every Season

Fashion for Every Season

As the seasons change, so does our approach to fashion. If you are anything like me, there is never enough room in the wardrobe for both Summer and Winter.
While I know that many places in this great country of ours, do get the joy of contrasting seasons, all 4 of them - sometimes even in one day
(yes, Melbournites, I’m talking to you),
here in Queensland we tend to stick with Summer and Winter, and even that can provide some fashion dilemmas.
For me, summer and spring means dresses, light floaty and floral. Team these with a hat, cute sandles and a pair of sunnies and you are good to go. When that little bit of ‘crisp’ starts to creep in, in the early morning and at dusk, a denim jacket can be a great go to over your pretty dress.
When things really start to cool down, let’s think pants, denim, cosy jumpers, layering, scarves, coats and boots. All in earthy warmer tones. It’s a whole different ball game.
But, having pieces in your wardrobe that are more trans-seasonal is incredibly practical, especially for when space for storage, and money for spending, aren’t unlimited commodities. Anything in linen or denim is great like this - breathable natural fibres.
 Let’s have a little play ...
Take a pair of our Black Camille Wide Leg Linen Pants as an example.
- In summer, team them with an Ember Cami or a Claire summer top, a pair of sandles and a hat and lovely big bag.
- In Autumn, a Boatneck 3/4 sleeve, a pair of loafers, a scarf in a contrasting colour and handbag.
Voila - 2 completely different looks.

Let’s try a Farrah Midi Dress in Green.
- In summer, the dress with a small kitten heeled sandle, a pair of sunglasses, a dainty earring and a purse.
- In autumn, throw on an Adrift denim jacket, a pair of natural leather ankle boot and a matching leather bag. You could even drape a patterned scarf around your neck.

Investing in a few pieces you love, and that you know you’ll be able to adapt, so you can simply wear them comfortably and look great for more of the year, well, it just makes sense.
