Self Care: How to Create an At-Home Spa

Whether you're wanting to go all-out with a full pamper day, or just wanting to treat yourself after a day at work, we all deserve to indulge in some self-care activities. We've put together this list of some ideas for you to create an at-home spa. These ideas are perfect for a solo spa day to refresh, revive and revitalise yourself. Let us know some of your at-home spa tips down below in the comments or over on our Instagram @adriftclothing.

1. Create a peaceful space

Creating a space that feels tranquil and calm is key to an at-home spa day. Make sure you turn your phone onto 'Do Not Disturb', dim the lights and light a candle. Our personal favourites are this Soul & Ark one, or this Peppermint Grove one. Another great way to create a peaceful space is to put some chilled-out music on.

2. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate

To really give your skin a treat, exfoliate with a gorgeous sugar/salt scrub, or use the dry-brushing technique! We love creating our own sugar body scrubs by simply combining raw sugar with coconut oil. Use this all over your body in the shower and follow with a good quality moisturiser to keep your skin soft and hydrated. We love this lemongrass & lime one!

3. Bath + mask time!

To get maximum relaxation vibes, take a hot bath and put on a cleansing face mask. Adding a beautiful bath bomb will allow you to let your body fully relax, while putting a face mask on will keep your skin feeling cleansed and hydrated. Make sure to bring a book to read while in the bath, or try some meditation if you're needing some quiet time.

4. DIY pampering

We don't all have access to the pampering products that beauticians use at day spas, so why not try to DIY some of your favourites? For a simple lip scrub, just combine a tablespoon of raw sugar with enough coconut oil and honey to make a paste. Or create your own hair mask to nourish and hydrate your locks by mixing together coconut oil, honey and avocado - leave for 15-20 minutes and then wash with your favourite shampoo and conditioner.

5. Give your hands the TLC they deserve

Going to get a manicure a great way to treat yourself, but you can easily re-create the same luxurious vibes from home! Start by exfoliating your hands with a sugar scrub, then paint your nails with your favourite polish. Finish with a glossy top coat and a hydrating hand cream to nourish your cuticles and skin.
